I’m finally back online and able to blog from home, so I thought I would take advantage.
The last couple of weeks have been busy. Buying things for the flat, putting things away, taking advantage of our closeness to the high street to ‘pop out’ for groceries or chocolate. I have had a whole week off, and I have not switched on my work phone once! I’m proud! I did succumb and check my emails on Friday though, but there was nothing too important. I SO don’t want to go back to work. Maybe I shouldn’t have taken a whole week off! Poor K has had 2 whole weeks off and had to go back today. She was really dreading it.
We did go to Crufts on Thursday though and that was fun! I would have stayed in the Arena all day if I could, but my bum was too big for the seats so I didn’t! It’s MASSIVE! 24 acres of doggy stuff. We only got round to see half of it, as we spent a lot of time in the Arena watching the Agility, heelwork to music and Flyball. Much fun! My favourite was definitely the ‘Heelwork to Music’. The winner’s routine was amazing! The dog seemed to just know the moves without being prompted and seemed to be having so much fun! Excellent stuff.
We’ve also managed to put away most of our stuff in the new flat! I’m starting to get used to it now. I’ve advertised a few bits on Freecycle, so hopefully we’ll be rid of the bits cluttering up the hall soon and it will look even tidier! THe only thing we now want is a new sofa. As we’re both on the larger side, we can’t both fit comfortably on the sofa we have. So we want a bigger one! We’ve been looking in the local charity shops, but haven’t found one that we want yet. We’ll keep on looking
We have also had to delve into the world of Freeview recorders. Having had Sky+ for a couple of years now, it was torture going back to tv with no pause function! So we bought a Thompson recorder as it looked alright. It had a twin tuner, series link, a ‘pause live tv’ function and the capacity to upgrade to Top up Tv. We had it for less than a week and it started to freeze and just not work. So we took it back and got a Humax. And OH what a good decision! It’s an amazing piece of kit! So many functions and extra features. It works really fast and the quality is excellent. Well worth the money.
So we’re nearly all sorted in our flat. I went to Tescos today and got a couple of air-fresheners (those plug-in types) and a loo block. It’s those nice little finishing touches that make the difference, isn’t it?
Now I think I’m going to go out and get something nice for dessert and then go and make some dinner while watching the tv via our new shiny Humax box..
